9th Grade Day Big Hit!

Wow, 345 9th graders, 150 staff members and a day filled with activities makes for a terrific start of East's Class of 2012.

East High hosted their 5th year of 9th Grade Day. The day begins in the auditorium with a video of the history, traditions, and community of East, hosted by Colleen Ogden and Dennis Mann. The parents were invited to stay for the welcome and then the incoming 9th grade students were divided into rotation groups for the upcoming breakout sessions in Spartan Life, Tours of the building, and Team Building. During Spartan Life rotation the students had the opportunity to meet and learn about various clubs and organizations from displays in the gym. Cafeteria lunch procedures were implemented during student lunch period to ensure all students were comfortable with the lunch schedules. After lunch the students followed their school schedule and located their classes. The teachers had this informal time to meet each student and provide a glimpse of what was coming during the following days. The day culminated with a Pep Rally, where the students were taught the SPARTAN FIGHT SONG, accompanied by the East High Band, numerous door prizes provided by USBank, Booster Club, Athletic Club, National Guard, various departments, and administration. Following the Pep Rally ice cream treats were provided by PAC from the Schwan's Ice Cream Truck. A GREAT Day for all!
