The Microtech Computer Club was started in 1988 with a group of ninth grade students who felt the need for a club that was for the computer interested students. This energetic group convinced the sponsor of Business Club to convert the program to this idea. Peggy Trumble, Business Technology Teacher, has sponsored this club since its inception.

Microtech has promoted computer skills through the community and school by offering classes and being instructors of computer programs. Many of the classes were offered to Lancaster Senior Citizens and provided a one-to-one approach to learn basic word processing and spreadsheet. The programs then expanded to how to utilize the internet using a modem, scanning pictures and attaching files to emails.

Microtech gives generously to the community and to Title IX schools by providing cash donations for food, services, clothing, and school supplies. In prior years the Microtech Members, in their bright cyan shirts, were actively working football concessions to raise funds for their charitable donations.

Meetings are held in B106 the first and third Wednesday of each month beginning at 3:05 and last 30 minutes. If there is an activity that requires a longer time a notice is placed in the student announcement and on their secure website. All members have access to the secure website through a registration process.

Senior Party is in the planning stages. Be prepared to give our seniors a send off they will remember. See Curtis or BJ for details on how you can assist.
