Good morning! It's the commencement of a new school week and time for Word of the Week, Spartan Nation! This week’s word of the week is submitted by Mrs. Staswick and her student teacher, Ms. Allen. This week’s word was chosen partly in recognition of April Fool’s Day next Saturday, because it’s a fun one. So this week’s word is DEFENESTRATE. Defenestrate is a verb that means “to throw someone out the window.” Stay tuned tomorrow for the etymology or, in other words, the origin of the word DEFENESTRATE.

In 2015 we had a strong turnout of students willing to donate their hair to Children with Hair Loss, a non-profit organization that provides human hair replacements at no cost to children facing medically related hair loss. Due to student interest, we’re bringing it back in 2017! If you are interested, and have at least 8 inches of hair to donate, please see Ms. Dugdale in room 018. We’ll have an event at the spring pep rally with professional stylists who will cut and style your hair for free. More details will be available when you sign up.
