Welcome to the Special Education Website
Welcome to Lincoln East's Special Education Online Resource
Everyone has a disablility - some of us can't jump very high, some can't tell one musical note from another, some can't create a beautiful picture, some can't type very fast, etc. What distinguishes a student in Special Education from all of the rest of us with disabilities is that the Special Education student has a disability that interferes with progress in school. There are special education students in many classes at East. Special education services can help students make full use of their learning potential through alternative methods of learning, resource support, and educational accommodations.
The mission of Lincoln Public Schools Special Education is to provide quality educational opportunities for students with disabilities from birth to age 21. Our goal is to improve educational outcomes for all children with disabilities through collaborative efforts among students, families, educators and the community alike.
Thank you for your interest in the special education services provided by East High School. We hope you find this web site helpful. Additional information can be obtained by calling the Special Education Department at 436-1326.
